Privacy policy
This policy explains what CHOPGAMING14 ("we", "us"), run by Karlos in Auckland, New Zealand, collects when you use chopgaming14.com, how it is used, and the choices you have. We follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. Questions or requests go through the contact page.
What we collect
- Account details you give us: email, password (stored only as a secure hash), gamertag, profile fields, avatar, and optional TikTok handle.
- Content you create: posts, comments, chat, builds, event RSVPs, game scores, song requests and text-to-speech messages.
- Payments: if you buy Pro, Elite or a gift, Stripe handles your card. We receive the result (amount, status, a customer reference and the last digits of the card) but never your full card number.
- Contact messages: your name, email and message, used only to reply.
- Basic usage data: page views counted first-party with a daily-rotating hash of your address and browser (no raw IP in that log, and no cross-day tracking), plus security logs for sign-ins.
- TikTok LIVE data: while Karlos is live, the site reads public LIVE events (usernames, comments, gifts, follows and subscriptions) to show on-stream alerts and thank supporters. If you link your TikTok handle to your account, we use it to apply subscriber perks.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in (an httpOnly session cookie) and to protect forms (a security token). These are needed for the site to work. Third-party vendors, including Google, may also set cookies when ads are shown (see below). You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; essential cookies are required to sign in.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
We may show ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info.
- Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services: How Google uses data from partner sites, and Google's advertising policies and privacy policy.
- Where required (for example for visitors in the EEA, UK or Switzerland), you will be asked for consent before personalised ads are shown. Non-personalised ads still use cookies for frequency capping and fraud prevention.
- Ads never appear on stream overlays, payment or checkout pages, or admin pages.
Other services we use
- Stripe processes payments. See Stripe's privacy policy.
- TikTok: public LIVE data as described above. See TikTok's privacy policy.
- Spotify plays song requests on stream through Karlos's own account; your request text is shown on stream.
- Cloudflare provides DNS and, if enabled, a bot check on sign-up.
- Our server is hosted in New Zealand.
How we use it
To run your account and the community features, process payments and memberships, show live stream alerts, keep the leaderboard fair, prevent abuse and spam, answer messages, and understand which pages are popular. We do not sell your personal information.
What appears publicly
Your gamertag, avatar, posts, scores and anything you send to the stream (TTS, song requests, gift messages) can be seen by other people, including on the live stream.
Keeping and protecting it
Data is kept while your account is active and for a limited time after for backups and legal records (payment records may be kept as tax law requires). Passwords are hashed, connections use HTTPS, and two-factor sign-in is available. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Your choices and rights
You can see and edit your profile in settings, cancel a membership in the Stripe customer portal, and ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information through the contact page. If you are not happy with our response you can contact the New Zealand Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
Children
The site is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. Members under 18 should have a parent's permission before buying anything.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
